For school nutrition programs, wellness is a priority. Their students – and their students’ health – drive what they do. The problem: getting students to take an active role in their health. Many schools face the dilemma of, “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink”.

Luckily schools have a powerful resource and ally: Fuel Up To Play 60.

What is Fuel Up To Play 60?

Fuel Up To Play 60 is a program dedicated to physical activity and in-school nutrition. Launched by the NFL and the National Dairy Council, its mission is to encourage students to focus on wellness and lead healthier lives. Involving 73,000 schools and reaching over 38 million students nationwide, Fuel Up To Play 60 is the nation’s largest school health program.

“Fuel Up to Play 60 stepped in and I was able to get funds to buy equipment so that we could teach the children structured play. Thanks to Fuel Up to Play 60 we’ve seen a lot more attentive students, more well-behaved students, and better performance in the classroom.”
– Ann P., Kahler Middle School

Schools have the opportunity to collaborate with the program and apply for funding to improve healthy eating and empowering students to engage in physical activity.
