We wait all year for this week. The one week of the year where the entire K-12 Child Nutrition Industry comes together to share the hottest ideas and test the latest innovations so that we may better nourish the youth of this country.

It’s time for SNA Annual National Conference!

This year, Annual National Conference (ANC) was held in (a very hot) Las Vegas, NV at The Mandalay Bay hotel and convention center. As much as you might have heard that good ole Vegas saying (I think you know the one that I’m referring to), at PrimeroEdge we believe that what happens in Vegas doesn’t have to stay there. If you weren’t able to attend this year’s conference, here’s our highlight reel of another great show!

Once again, PrimeroEdge was proud to sponsor the Wi-Fi network for the conference, as well as the lounge areas for District Directors and State Agency representatives. If you were lucky enough to attend the show, we hope you were able to stop by those rooms to rest your feet, grab a healthy snack, and mingle with other conference attendees.

We love attending ANC for many reasons, but top of my list is the ability to reacquaint with longtime friends, all while building new connections and friendships in this fantastic industry. So many of our customers stopped by the PrimeroEdge booth in the exhibit hall excited to see the newest app innovations that we have developed.

We showcased ExpressPoint, our completely app-based POS, on a massive touchscreen monitor that allowed for a hands-on, interactive user experience. Expresspoint has the same features as PrimeroEdge’s previous Windows-based system, plus additional bells and whistles fit for a 21st century CN program.

Revamped and better than ever, attendees were able to experience IntelliScan, the only K-12 focused Inventory Scanning app. Sporting a new app interface and end-user enhancements, IntelliScan was made to lessen the Inventory burden for your school managers. A few quick scans when your morning delivery trucks show up and the items are immediately added into your inventory system. Whenever it’s time for those required physical inventory counts, districts can scan and save the counts in one motion, eliminating the need to transfer from paper to electronic.

Brand new to the PrimeroEdge product portfolio is our Inspections app. Through the app, districts can create, operate, and track school site inspections – whether it is related to cash handling, signage, or even a mock AR. The Inspection type, criteria, judging method, etc. is all up to the central office to determine. Team members who are conducting the inspection and recording their findings through the app can even upload pictures, audio recordings, or videos for additional evidence. It will revolutionize school nutrition inspections and help districts organize their compliance data and progress across all school sites.

Of course, ANC is about more than just the Exhibits! Our entire team made it a point to sit in on as many education sessions as we could after the Exhibit Hall closed each afternoon. They were all so informative and professionally executed. We even had a former PrimeroEdge team member, Cheyenne Meyer, present “Marketing to Generation Z” on Monday morning of the conference. Her education session was standing room only, and she even was asked to present a second time! We are so proud of her!

Of course, a trip to Vegas is not complete if you don’t have a little fun during your stay! Our team ate dinner together most evenings, and even ventured to Fremont Street, also known as Downtown Las Vegas. Fremont Street has some of the original Las Vegas casinos before The Strip took over the town. The Golden Nugget, Binions, and Four Queens are some of the historic hotels and casinos that are located in this entertaining neighborhood of Vegas. Between the live music, live street art, the LED lightshow, and the people watching, we had a great time wandering around soaking in the sites.

But alas, all great things must come to an end, so we packed up our booth, our bags, and our apps, and headed back to Texas, where – you guessed it – it is also VERY HOT. What happens in Vegas doesn’t have to stay in Vegas.
