COVID-19 Part Two: The Solution

The phrase “roller coaster of emotions” is an understatement when it comes to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since mid-March, schools everywhere have been waiting each day to hear something different regarding how they are expected to feed the students in their communities. Just when it seems like everyone seems to find a new normal something changes throwing a wrench in our newly founded routines. 

Uncertainty

Districts everywhere are waiting every day to know if they can continue with emergency feeding or transition to their annual SFSP/SSO methods when the standard June 30th deadline expires. This level of uncertainty is leaving foodservice professionals wondering how much longer they have to combat the current issues they are facing.

  • Is there a better way to track how many meals we are distributing?
  • Is there a way I can tell how many meals I need to be preparing?
  • How can I prevent people in my communities from abusing the system and taking free meals from multiple sites?
