Celebrate Fall! 5 Things To Look Forward To

Summer is over, the kids are going back to school, albeit virtually for many, and just like that we’re headed into a new season: Fall. I mean, how is it September already?  Many of us are still working from home these days, which means our days easily turn into weeks and the weeks into months without any real sense of change. It’s like time has frozen still, but life continues to move forward whether we want it to or not. So let’s go ahead and enjoy this new season as much as we can!

Here are 5 things that you can look forward to this Fall:

Cooler weather

Finally! Better temperatures are on the horizon! Make sure you take some time to enjoy the outdoors this fall, while social distancing of course. Set up a picnic in your backyard or visit the park and watch the leaves change colors. If you’re working from home, take a break outside or take your laptop with you to work on the patio! We can always use a little fresh air in our lives.

All the major holidays

Labor Day. Halloween. Thanksgiving. Maybe we can’t travel but that doesn’t mean we don’t deserve some days to unwind from work/school. Dive into some hobbies, and connect (even, virtually) with our family and friends. We need mental breaks like these now more than ever. Take a Break, Decorate, and Celebrate!

Routine for yourself and your family

School is back in session, work continues, and we can fill the rest of our days however we choose. This season is a great time to get back into a routine and get that sense of control and stability  we all desire. It may be an adjustment at first, but if we’ve managed to adapt throughout this pandemic, we can surely adapt again in the Fall. Plus we’ve all learned a little something along the way by now: Masks? Check.  Online Grocery Ordering? Check.  How to properly use Zoom and mute yourself? Double Check.

The Small Comforts in Life

Assuming that all other variables remain the same this fall, there are still some smaller joys in life that we can take comfort in. Warm foods like pies and soups. Clothes that we can layer and not sweat in. Being able to watch sports again (TV still counts). All good things. Combine that with the knowledge that we’re getting closer to the end of 2020 and hopefully a brighter new year? We can definitely take some comfort in that. Here’s to peace, love, harmony, and good health.
