**EDIT: Since its initial posting, this conference has officially been sold out. We hope to see you at next year’s event!
Last year, PrimeroEdge hosted its very first Edge Summit, a two-day national user group meeting held in The Woodlands, Texas. This year, we’re bringing it back with all new topics and even product training! The 2nd Annual Edge Summit, held March 8-9 in Houston, Texas is a great opportunity to learn more about PrimeroEdge, hear the latest on hot topics in child nutrition, and network with others in the industry. If you’re still on the fence about signing up, here are the top ten reasons why you should come on down to Texas!
#1 The Content
The general and breakout sessions for this event promise to be top notch! On the first day, you’ll learn about the new the internal structure and processes for PrimeroEdge, discover the best ways to market to your students, participate in a food photography workshop, and more! For a full agenda, please click here.
#2 The Keynote
On Day 1, you’ll hear from keynote speaker Jim McIngvale. Better known as “Mattress Mack”, McIngvale is a world-famous entrepreneur, philanthropist, and owner and operator of Gallery Furniture in Houston, Texas. You may recognize him from his fast-paced radio or TV commercials, where he always promises to “save you money today!” You might also know him from his interesting campaigns – like “If the Astros Win It All, You Get It All!” – where customers were reimbursed for their mattress purchase if the Astros won the 2017 World Series. In this keynote speech, Mattress Mack will emphasize the importance of philanthropy and customer service in order to deliver the best product, and how you can apply some of these strategies to improve your child nutrition operations.
#3 The Location
This year, Edge Summit takes place at the JW Marriot in Houston, TX – a beautiful hotel and meeting space right across the street from the Houston Galleria! Enjoy the largest shopping center in Texas, and all the great food that surrounds it. Just a short drive away are locations like Eleanor Tinsley Park, which boasts a gorgeous view of the Houston skyline; Minute Maid Park, the home of the Astros, the 2017 World Series Champions; and the Houston Museum District, home to 19 museums including The Museum of Fine Arts, The Menil Collection, and the Museum of Natural Science.
#4 The Dinner
Attendees will enjoy a catered buffet lunch and breakfast on both days, but the meal you won’t want to miss is the exclusive dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy on Thursday night. Edge Summit attendees are invited to join the PrimeroEdge family at Maggiano’s on March 8 at 5 p.m. for a cocktail hour (with complimentary drinks and appetizers), followed by a dinner (on us!) at 6 p.m. This intimate gathering allows our users to enjoy an elegant meal and get to know our team, as well as one another, outside of the conference setting.
#5 The Sneak Peek
Before Day 1’s keynote speech, you’ll find out what’s coming in 2018 in the “New Year, New Us” session. Hosted by Dallas Taras, the Director of Product Management, this general session serves as a sneak peek into all of the great things PrimeroEdge has in the pipeline. Discover the latest updates, modules, and plans for the future to help your school nutrition program achieve excellence.
#6 The Hands-On Experience
Join us at the Product Base Camp on Day 1 of Edge Summit to test out our latest modules and devices yourself! Check out the latest and greatest in school nutrition software, and pick the product owners’ brains with your questions – all in an interactive experience.
#7 The Networking Opportunities
PrimeroEdge users from across the U.S. will be at Edge Summit, giving you a wonderful opportunity to get to know child nutrition professionals from different parts of the country. With our interactive sessions, you’ll have a chance to meet others in the industry, build relationships, learn what strategies work (or didn’t work) for different child nutrition programs, and share some ideas and strategies of your own.
#8 The Training
On Day 2 of Edge Summit, you’ll get the opportunity to attend free training events all day. You’ll receive product training on specific PrimeroEdge solutions, as well as specialized sessions including Reports Training and Closing the Year/Starting the New Year Training. Attend product Q&A sessions, and even try your hand at “stumping” our trainers with questions about your favorite school nutrition solutions.
#9 The Time of Year
If you’ve ever visited Texas in the summer months, you know just how hot it can get here in the summertime. Luckily for you, Edge Summit takes place in early March – before Mother Nature brings the Texas heat! It’s a great time of year to spend some time outside when you’re not enjoying the Edge Summit activities. You’ll be here just in time for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where you can watch the rodeo, have fun at the carnival, and see music stars like Luke Bryan and Chris Young in concert.
