2017 is bringing all sorts of changes – a new year, a new start, new goals and new experiences. At PrimeroEdge, 2017 is bringing a new event – Edge Summit. The inaugural Edge Summit, held April 6-7 in The Woodlands, Texas is a great opportunity to learn more about PrimeroEdge, learn more about hot topics in child nutrition, and get to know others in the industry. If you’re still on the fence about signing up, here are the top ten reasons why you should come on down to Texas!
1. The Content
The general and breakout sessions for this event promise to be top notch! On the first day, you’ll learn the internal structure and processes for PrimeroEdge, try your hand at “stumping” our trainers with questions about your favorite school nutrition solutions, discover the best ways to market to your students, and even participate in a food photography workshop! Day 2 brings a chat on bridging generational gaps in your program, and an informative panel discussion you won’t want to miss! For a full agenda, please click here.
2. The Keynotes
Day 1’s keynote speaker, Troy Morrison, is a successful businessman in the food service industry. The owner and franchise development director for Taco Bell Corp and Yum! Brands, Morrison has plenty of experience to share about customer service in the food industry, and how to promote a positive company culture. And Day 2 brings keynote speaker Calum Neff – an endurance athlete and 3x Guinness World Record Holder. As a professional athlete, parent, and high school sports coach, Neff understands the importance of proper nutrition, and will share effective strategies for encouraging kids to live healthy and active lives.
3. The Location
Edge Summit takes place at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott in The Woodlands, Texas – a picturesque hotel and meeting space right on the water! The Woodlands boasts over 11 million square feet of shopping, dining, hospitality and entertainment. When you’re not attending Edge Summit, you can stroll around Hughes Landing, Market Street, The Woodlands Mall or The Woodlands Waterway to shop, eat or just relax. A complimentary trolley transports visitors around the shopping and dining areas, or if you prefer to travel by water, hop on a Waterway Cruiser, paddleboard or kayak!
4. The Dinner
Attendees can enjoy a catered buffet lunch on Day 1, and a breakfast and lunch on Day 2. But the meal you won’t want to miss is the exclusive dinner at Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse on Thursday night. Edge Summit attendees are invited to join the PrimeroEdge family at the award-winning Kirby’s Steakhouse on April 6 at 5 p.m. for a cocktail hour (with complimentary drinks and appetizers), followed by a dinner (on us!) at 6 p.m. This intimate gathering allows our users to enjoy an elegant meal and get to know our team, as well as one another, outside of the conference setting.
5. The Sneak Peek
After Day 1’s keynote speech, you’ll find out what’s coming in 2017 at “The Unveiling”. This general session serves as a sneak peek into all of the great things PrimeroEdge has on the pipeline. Discover the latest updates, modules, and plans for the future to help your school nutrition program achieve excellence.
6. The Hands-On Experience
Join us at the Product Base Camp on Day 1 of Edge Summit to test out our latest modules and devices yourself! Check out with the latest and greatest in school nutrition software and pick the product owners’ brains with your questions, all in an interactive experience.
7. The Networking Opportunities
PrimeroEdge users from across the U.S. will be at Edge Summit, giving you a wonderful opportunity to get to know child nutrition professionals from different parts of the country. With our interactive sessions, you’ll have a chance to meet others in the industry, build relationships, learn what strategies work (or didn’t work) for different child nutrition programs, share some ideas and strategies of your own.
8. The Face Time
Many times, your only conversations with the PrimeroEdge staff is over the phone or via email. Edge Summit gives you the opportunity to meet us in person, ask us any questions you may have, and get to know us on a more personal level. Joining us at Edge Summit is a great way to get to know person behind the phone call or computer screen.
9. The Time of Year
If you attended the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference in San Antonio last year, you know just how hot Texas can get in the summertime. Luckily for you, Edge Summit takes place in early April – before Mother Nature brings the Texas heat! You’ll experience highs in the upper 70s, and lows in the 50s – with the sun shining over the scenic Woodlands Waterway. It’s a great time of year to spend some time outside when you’re not enjoying the Edge Summit activities.
