Our third annual Edge Summit took place March 7-8 and it was a our largest one yet. We saw record breaking numbers in registration and attendance. School nutrition professionals from 14 different states joined us to hear exciting new announcements and get hands-on access to the latest PrimeroEdge products and features.

If you didn’t have the opportunity to join us this year, here are some of the biggest highlights.

New Kids On The Block

Dallas Taras, the Director of Product Management at PrimeroEdge, kicked off the event with his presentation, New Kids on the Block. Attendees got a first look at what they can expect when they upgrade from Classic POS to ExpressPoint as well as our Inspections module.

With ExpressPoint, districts can create dynamic menus for their POS and have it sync with their Menu Planning module. ExpressPoint can be accessed from any browser, works across all devices, and is completely cloud based.

Inspections is the first app of its kind, allowing administrators to review, approve, and monitor from one location. This app was specifically designed to eliminate paper and save you time during your on-site inspections.

Product Base Camp

Product Base Camp, the conference’s interactive feature, was a fan favorite. Here, attendees had the chance to get up close and personal with the latest updates, features and products from our Product Management and Product Development teams. Attendees got their hands on ExpressPoint to experience its new user interface, see how IntelliScan could lessen the burden of inventory management with barcode scanning, and publish their menus to digital menu boards with SchoolCafé TV.

New This Year: Appointments!

Attendees this year had the opportunity to book a 25-minute appointment with PrimeroEdge subject matter experts. This gave several people the chance to ask any questions they’ve had for our staff in a well organized face-to-face setting. We received a lot of great feedback as many customers walked away with resolutions and answered questions.

The Sessions

Attendees were in awe learning about new features like GS1 that will eliminate the manual process of inserting item information and automatically sync them into PrimeroEdge. They got an inside look at some of the most commonly asked questions received by customer care in the Tips & Tricks session on Day 1; and on Day 2 they were challenged with a very competitive game of troubleshooting jeopardy. Breakout sessions included Menu Bar, presented by Bruce Adkins, product owner; and Real Life Allergen Obstacles, presented by Jill Kressin, SNS and Edge Summit coordinator.

Of course, this is only a small glimpse into the many sessions offered at Edge Summit. We can’t wait to show what we have in store for next year!
